Hi Leo,

Thanks for the observation.  This obviously slipped past me.  I apologize for the oversight, previous builders must have just made a new piece with the extra 1/2" of height but forgotten or neglected to mention it to me.  I will double check the plans and make corrections for new prints.

My focus has been on other things recently and I haven't put together an Agri-Duck in years, so I didn't catch the error.  If you find anything else or have any suggestions to improve either the plans or the manual, feel free to email me or share it here with other builders.  Anything builders care to contribute can only help make it even easier for future builders.

Thanks,
Greg

GREG... I MADE A TALLER BULK HEAD SO I COULD GLUE ON... BUT I HAVE NOT GONE AS FAR AS MAKING UP THE CANOPY .. I LOOKED OVER THE PLANS MORE AND IM THINKING IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF THINGS.ITS POSSIBLE THE L AND R SIDE PANELS ARE TOO TALL WHERE THEY MAKE CONTACT WITH THE BULK HEAD .. I HAVE TAKEN TONS OF JPGS AS I WENT ALONG..HOW DO I POST THEM TO THIS PAGE?? RIGHT NOW I HAVE 4 DAYS IN A ROW OFF AND IM IN THE PROCESS OF GLUING UP THE VERTICAL STABILIZER.IM USING A MOKI 180 THAT I CONVERTED TO GAS FOR AN ENGINE.ITS A GOOD FIT AND I HAVE SET IN A LITTLE TORQUE ANGLE OF 5 DEGREES.YOUR PLANS BOOK DID NOT MENTION TO BUILD IT IN THE ENGINE MOUNT.SOON ENOUGH I WILL SEE IF ITS AN ADVANTAGE.LET ME KNOW ABOUT HOW TO LOAD IN THE JPGS..AND IF YOU GET A CHANCE LAY UP A SIDE PANEL TO THE BULK HEAD I NOTICED THE TOP OF THE SIDE PANEL IS NOT A STRAIGHT LINE TO THE END. ITS GOT A SHORT BREAK OFF POINT THEN IT GOES STRAIGHT TO THE NOSE.CHECK THAT AREA OUT...LEO

Hi Leo,

Here is a little "How To" on posting pictures to these forums. (I will add this to the FAQ's too)

You can't insert an image directly into the post from a file on your computer like you can on some forums, instead you can upload your pictures to a free picture hosting website or in this case you can just upload them into your own album on my website gallery www.mudduckaviation.com/cpg.  There you can edit them, provide a description for each image, etc. and anybody can see them but only you can edit and manage them.  The gallery has it's own help menu to explain how to do things.

If you use the Mud Duck gallery, you can copy the url of the image itself (right click the image, choose properties, then copy the URL) from my gallery, then paste that URL into the post, then highlight the URL and click the button with a photo on it (just below the Italics button) on the post editor toolbar.  That will automatically put the HTML tag around it to make it show the picture when you make the post.

Another way which saves you a couple more steps would be to use www.photobucket.com (also free).  It just requires registering then you can upload all the photos you want.  The neat thing that simplifies posting pictures to forums from your photobucket account is that when you are logged into photobucket and looking at your pictures there are several URL's with different "tags" already listed under each photo.  Pick the photo you want to show in your post, go down to the one with "IMG" by it and click the URL.  It will automatically copy that URL with the [IMG] tags already applied, now just paste it into your post and it will show up after your "post" or "preview" your post (just not in the editor itself, you will only see the URL and tags).  It may sound complicated but it is super simple after you do it 2-3 times; obviously keep two windows open so you dont have to keep logging back in to each site.

Here are a few screen shots of the process...

First, copying the url from the photo online.  Open up the image size you want posted (if multiple sizes are available) and right click on the image and find the "properties" option and click it....

Second, now that the properties window opens up, highlight and copy (Ctrl+C) the URL (address)...

Finally, Past the URL into your forum post editor as shown below (you can read the ext in the screenshot for the steps)...

Hope this helps,

Greg

Hi Leo,

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, I was at the NEAT Fair this weekend and had no internet access since Thursday.  I will check the dihedral this evening when I get home so you know exactly what it was, but off the top of my head I believe it is 5 degrees (per wing tip).

Even if you could drop the dihedral to zero, I would not recomend it.  There is a lot of mass above that wing and the dihedral helps balance the plane nicely.

Hi Leo,

I meant to get this out last night.  The wing tips should be up 5 degrees.  The Struts should be 28 3/8" long from pin hole to pin hole just as the manual describes.

OK. MY SERVO EXTENTION WIRES CAME IN FROM CHINA THIS PAST THURSDAY AND I WAS ON IT ALL DAY AND TOOK IT TO THE FIELD FRIDAY AND STUCK IT IN THE AIR... IT CRAB WALKED TO THE LEFT ON TAKE OFF  AND IT WAS AIRBORN AT ABOUT 1/4 THROTTLE.THE ENGINE TOOK A LITTLE TIME TO COME ON REVS BUT IT CRAWLED AROUND FOR SOME ELEVATION AND SLOWLY MUSHED AROUND. I SET THE ENGINE ABOUT 3 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT WHEN I BUILT IT AND IT HAS A MUFFLER THAT SITS HIGH ON THE LEFT SIDE. I BROUGHT IT IN AND BUSTED THE AXLE BUT WAS HAPPY TO SEE IT IN GOOD CONDITION.. I MADE SOME MODS TO THE LANDING GEAR AND BROUGHT THE AXLE FORWARD SLIGHTLY AHEAD OF THE L.E. OF THE WING. SATURDAY I HAD IT BACK OUT THERE AND THE TAKE-OFF WAS  MUCH BETTER . THE ENGINE RAN BETTER BECAUSE IN THE EXCITEMENT OF CHECKING THE CG WITH THE PLANE INVERTED I PLUGED THE GAS TANK VENT LINE SO I WOULD NOT LOOSE FUEL. SO IT WAS TRING TO SUCK FUEL OUT WITH A PLUGED VENT LINE. NOT GOOD. FOR THE FIRST RUN.. THE MOKE 180 NOW HAS A 18-10 PROP.MASTER AIR SCREW..AND STILL COULD GO BIGGER ON THE PITCH..I THINK IT STARTS FLYING AT ABOUT 5 MILES AN HOUR..AND FOR SURE HATES CROSS WINDS WITH A PASSION.. MOST PLANES LOOK SMALL ONCE IN THE AIR BUT NOT AN AGRI DUCK WITH 110 " WING SPAND. ITS A MONSTER. ON LANDING WITH A HEAD WIND I THINK AT IDLE IT WOULD FLY BACKWARDS..I HAD TO DRIVE IT DOWN TO THE GROUND AND I LET IT FLOAT THE LAST 2 FT.AND ON LANDING I SNAPPED OFF ANOTHER WHEEL.  FOR THIS COMING SUNDAY I BROUGHT THE WHEELS IN CLOSER TO THE FUSELOGE. SO WE WILL SEE. AS THEY SAY.I ALSO DONT TRUST THE SERVO'S IN THE WINGS SO I WILL SAFTY WIRE THEM IN PLACE LIKE THE RUDDER AND ELEVATOR ARE. I HAVE A TON OF THROW ON THE AILERONS. AND RUDDER , AND ITS A MUST ,I WILL ALSO TRY TO WEIGH IT TOMORROW.A FRIEND TOOK  VIDEO OF MY LAST FLIGHT IN ITS ENTIRETY. ITS A BIG FILE SO HE WILL GET IT ON YOUTUBE SOON.MY NEXT FIX IS TO BETTER LOCATE THE MUFFLER.IT MIGHT BE CAUSING SOME OF THE CRABBING ON TAKE OFF..BLOCKING AIR TO THE RUDDER....LC
