Info on building a 14' Muduck MKII
« on: December 27, 2008, 09:52:00 AM »

My buddy and I, are already interested in building a 14' muduck, even though we are just starting our MKII's ....LOL

Does anyone have any info on or how Dan Thompson built his ? Does anyone have a link to the newsletters he did several years ago, on the different versions of mudducks he tried ?

Thanks in advance for any info provided.   Huh

I have live pages up on my website without links to them that list some information about Dan's early work and the specs of some of the modified versions he made here:
Mods: http://208.64.137.211/*mudduckaviation.com/httpdocs/Pages/Dan%20Thompson%20Mods.htm
Specs: http://208.64.137.211/*mudduckaviation.com/httpdocs/Pages/Dan%20Thompson%20Specs.htm

This was when I was starting to put it all online, then got side tracked before creating all the pages. Unfortunately neither have the Monster Duck info.  I have it scanned and am still looking for it.  I just am in between swapping files to a newer computer and thought I had it on the newer one already (but didn't).  I will get it though.

Greg

EDIT:  I found one letter but I know there is a newer one yet to be found that describes changing the engine on the 14 footer to a G-62.  But here is this one (2 pages) for your reading pleasure (the letter refers to enclosed photos that are numbered/coded, they are all available at the last link).

Greg, thank you for searching for the info I asked for. You know, maybe you should post a warning that 'mudduck' building is addictive ! Good Lord.....I'm already dreaming of a twin engine duck.  Grin
Now I really will have to finish cleaning my shop...will need the room...lol
