Dan's Flock is big and varied. He has supplied so many pictures and a news coverage story, that it is only fitting to provide him an album just for his flock! Dan has experimented and modified the Mud Duck MkI as you will see, some things worked better than others and some things didn't work at all (nosewheel).

Clean Gantry0 viewsWith the gluing dispense head and the video inspection camers, etc. removed there seems to be a lot more room to fit the router and a vacuum port to.Mud Duck Aviation

Mud Duck Report Vol.1 Iss.2 pg210 viewsBack in 1995-1997 Dan created a simple newsletter to keep other builders that were following what he was doing, up to date. Dan detailed some mods he employed and improvements to the MkI design.Mud Duck Aviation

LTP Pinouts0 viewsAccess to unused LTP pins that CAM software can use to turn on/off other devices. I will be using two of these to switch power for the router and for the dust collector through opto-isolated relays. The CAM software will tell the router to turn on and then the dust collector moments before begining a series of cuts, then it will power each off when the task is done and the material needs to be replaced.Mud Duck Aviation

The old control electronics1 viewsThe machine used a PC with a 486 processor, a 18 MB (yes MB not GB) Hard Drive, with only a floppy drive and an external Zip 100 drive for programming. The PC had a custom PCI card installed that interfaced the computer and the video between the computer and the controls in the back of the machine. This machine was about 10 years old and built for a pretty specific purpose, so updating the existing electronics was an impossible task. The Hard Drive was toasted in the PC so I couldn't even fiddle with it.Mud Duck Aviation
