This page is where I will be posting some of the thoughts rolling around in my head for projects and products that one day may see the light of day...

Sikorski Duck

The picture below is another Chipley creation.  It is a free-built design, of which he never drew plans.  I purchased this prototype from him a year or two after acquiring MDA with the idea of releasing it one day as a new design.  Based off the Sikorski-39 it works well as a Mud Duck!

Some details of the Sikorski Duck is that is is about the size of the Mud Duck Sport, powered by a Satio 100, similar FomeCor construction to the other Ducks, including the fuselage/pontoon.  The Fuselage is a work of art by FomeCor standards.  Unfortunately for those eying it up for flying off water is that it won't, not the prototype anyway.  It is a hollow FomeCore body that isn't protected for water submersion.  As you can see the "live" axle passes right through the empty fuse, and not visible in this shot is the tailwheel and its mount.

Converting it to a real ROW (rise off water) model could be easily accomplished and simplifying construction, by cutting the fuselage out of a block of white foam.  Since all the electronics and engine are on the wing center section, the only thing that would need to be done to the foam fuselage would be to add hard mounts to it for the wing, struts, and if wanted (for amphibious use) landing gear.
